Your involvement in shaping housing services is important to us and we value your experience and feedback.
Our web pages show you how you can bring your knowledge and expertise to work with us to help deliver better services for everyone who lives in a council owned home.
You can get involved by:
- Joining or forming a tenants and residents association (TRA) if you live on an estate, and standalone housing block or as a group of street properties.
- Becoming part of our network of block champions if you live in a small block that is not part of an estate or a street property.
- Becoming a sheltered housing tenant representative.
- Taking part in our leasehold engagement sessions.
- Taking part in an estate inspection.
Housing works in partnership with residents at the following representative forums:
- Housing Representatives Forum – the central and most senior group for engagement, bringing together elected representatives from TRAs and sheltered housing, as well as block and street champions and service improvement group chairs and vice chairs.
- Sheltered Housing Forum – working with us to represent the 21 schemes in the borough
We work with the following resident-led service improvement groups:
- Disabled Residents’ Housing Strategy Implementation Group
- Fire, Building Safety and Repairs Working Group
- Housing and Estates Working Group
- Investment Group.
Code of conduct
All of our resident-led groups and forums work to a code of conduct to make sure getting involved is a great experience and that everyone understands acceptable standards of behaviour.
Resident engagement strategy
We are currently working with residents to develop a resident engagement strategy for 2024-29.
