Adaptations will be carried out in accordance with the assessment, to meet the clinical needs of the tenant. The work will not include additional improvements to the home, unless these works are already scheduled under the council's housing capital programme.
Our grants and adaptions team will write to the tenant to confirm the type of adaptation that has been approved and arrangements for carrying out a technical inspection by a surveyor. This inspection will be completed so that we can arrange for the work to be carried out appropriately, safely and so that it is compliant with all required legislation and regulations.
We will keep accurate records of completed adaptations on all relevant council housing and adult social care digital systems, including relevant compliance certificates, manufacturers specification, warranty and ongoing maintenance requirements.
We will give tenants an idea of how long their home adaptation might take when we arrange the work.
