A 26-year-old man from Hammersmith has embarked on an extraordinary journey to run to every Tube station on the London Underground.
Harry Clough – originally from Scotland, now living on Crabtree Lane, Hammersmith – is taking on the 400km challenge to raise awareness for the men's health charity, Movember.
"I've struggled with anxiety and depression throughout my life," Harry explained. "I want to help other men avoid the same struggles by showing them that there is help and hope."
Five lines down
Since launching his challenge in late October, Harry has already completed:
- Metropolitan line: A 64km route from Amersham to Aldgate (26 stations)
- Northern line: From High Barnet to Morden (33 stations)
- Hammersmith & City line: From Barking to Hammersmith, dressed as Mario for Halloween (29 stations)
- Victoria line: From Walthamstow Central to Brixton (16 stations)
- Circle line: From Edgware Road to Hammersmith (26 stations)
Harry, who works in Business Development is determined to push his physical and mental limits to encourage men to talk about their health.
"Men need to know it's okay to discuss their physical and mental health," Harry added.
"I am supporting Movember in the hope that what I am doing will not only raise money for the charity but encourage anyone in need of help to ask for it."
Breaking the silence
Harry's challenge comes as Hammersmith & Fulham Council partners with Fuller's and local fitness centres to connect men to mental health services in the borough.
The campaign has placed mental health support information in a dozen local pubs and three fitness centres across the borough.
