Immediate support for adults
Call 999 if you or someone you know experiences a life-threatening medical or mental health emergency. Stay with the person and continue to talk to them if you can. In an emergency, you can also go to your local A&E department. Find your nearest A&E
If you or the person you are with can keep themselves safe for a short while but is still in need of urgent help:
- Dial 111 on your phone and speak to the NHS Mental Health Triage Service. It is free and open 24/7.
- Contact your or their GP surgery and ask for an emergency appointment.
- 24 hour Mental Health Crisis Helpline: Find an NHS Urgent Mental Health Helpline
- People with hearing problems can use the NHS 111 British Sign Language (BSL) service.
