The H&F Health Homes scheme has replaced the Winter Ready Homes Scheme.
Hammersmith & Fulham has partnered with Groundwork to provide support and advice to people who are struggling to heat or cool their homes due to high energy bills.
Groundwork is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to help residents and community organisations reduce their carbon footprint through making their homes and lifestyle more energy efficient.
What support is provided?
Groundwork is providing Green Drs home visits, phone consultations and will be out in community in various engagements roughly once a fortnight. The support includes:
- Installing simple energy efficient measures (draught proofing, changing light bulbs to LED bulbs, and pipe installation etc) in your home (Green Drs)
- Advice on how to reduce energy use
- Behavioural change tips and tricks
- Support with energy or water debt
- Support in applying for relevant grants on behalf of residents or discuss relevant grants available
- Phone consultations any support regarding bills, debt, grant and energy efficiency
Working with the community
Groundwork will be actively working with community organisations in Hammersmith & Fulham to raise awareness on this service to help people struggling with their energy bills. They will be maintaining their current relationships whilst also fostering new relationships with organisations such as faith groups, community organisations and energy groups. Please get in touch if you think your organisation can benefit from this service.
Groundwork will be running online webinars to create awareness, and discuss this service and relevant grants in more detail. These online sessions will cover:
- What fuel poverty is and the drivers for it
- Why behavioural change is important
- Different grants that can be offered
- H&F Healthy Homes and what this service provides
Outreach events

People who are eligible for this service include:
- People with a disability
- People with a long-term health condition worsened by the cold
- Pregnant women
- Those households who have someone over 60
- Those households who have someone under 10
- Households that have an income below £36,000
- Households whose energy costs more than 10% of household income
