Spring has sprung! Enjoy the long Easter weekend in one of H&F's parks and open spaces.
H&F has more than 50 green open spaces for you, your family and your four-legged friends to explore. Each one is different, from the riverside views of Furnivall Gardens, the glorious terrain of Wormwood Scrubs to the sports haven at Hurlingham Park.
We are proud of our parks and 19 of them have won the prestigious Green Flag Award.
Here is a selection of some of the best:
Wormwood Scrubs
Wormwood Scrubs is H&F's largest open space at 76.8-hectares, located in the north of the borough. It's the most recent addition to our impressive tally of Green Flags.
The scrubs are incredibly biodiverse and home to almost 250 species of wildflowers and 100 species of birds. The Friends of the Scrubs group runs bird walks and butterfly counts to help you see nature up close.
If you are looking for something more active, join the Wormwood Scrubs Parkrun – a free, weekly 5k walk, jog, or run that takes place every Saturday at 9am.
Ravenscourt Park
Ravenscourt Park is one of our shadier locations with more than 600 trees. The Friends of Ravenscourt Park have created a Tree Trail map including an introduction to 25 trees for you to explore the woodland.
You can also visit the park's newly refurbished historic café. It's reopened after a major renovation project by H&F Council.
If you need a quiet moment, H&F has installed a bench donated by the CALM mental health charity in the walled garden at the northern end.
Hammersmith Park
Hammersmith Park houses a Japanese garden with a waterfall and pond – which is currently full of frogspawn!
Plus there's a play area, games courts and a tiny forest.
Hurlingham Park
Hurlingham Park is particularly popular with sporty residents. Get active this weekend with its facilities.
The park boasts some of the best tennis courts in the borough, and there's still space to sign up for an Easter weekend slot.
Brook Green
Brook Green is a gem in the heart of Hammersmith and the perfect spot to take the little ones.
The playground – located in the middle of the Green Flag award-winning park – has 13 new pieces of equipment including an accessible basket swing and five interactive play panels after its £53,000 upgrade.
Bishops Park
Bishops Park is a gorgeous Grade II listed park that runs along the river Thames. The park was created in 1893 from land around the Fulham Palace and gifted to the borough by the Bishop of London.
If you have never visited Fulham Palace adjacent to the park, check out what's on at the Palace.
H&F supports its parks and residents
We care about our open spaces and want to make sure they're the best in London.
Our resident-led Parks Commission is part of our work to fulfil this standard.
