Temper Burger launched this week, just across Wood Lane from the White City tube station.
It's the little sister of the main Temper open-fire barbecue smokehouse chain which already has six branches in the capital, cooking meat sourced from a single Yorkshire farm.
The 'classic smashburgers' on Temper Burger's menu use the same aged beef as the firm's main Latin American fusion eateries.
Free cheeseburgers
Temper Burger, which is housed in the former Patty & Bun artisan eatery at TV Centre, is offering 100 free cheeseburger meals to locals every weekday lunchtime next week, from Monday 22 to Friday 26 April.
To qualify, you have to register here. Then 100 selected winners will be emailed the day before, and will receive a free takeaway cheeseburger and fries meal.
Co-founder Sam Lee de Lagonell said of the new restaurant: "We're delighted to continue Temper's journey, and see it go from strength to strength. Expect to find all your favourite flavours, but now between buns."
The chain was set up in 2016, with the first branch in Soho. The new burger concept was dreamt up by Sam with David Lagonell, to make better use of the offcuts from the main steak business.
On offer
Prices start at £9.50 for a two-patty burger or cheeseburger, while a cheese-and-bacon version is £11 and other special options are £12. Veggie burgers and chicken burgers are also on offer, created by Temper's chef director David Lagonell.
Sides range from beef-fat cornbread to guacamole, fries, and burnt hispi cabbage, together with the beef nachos and caramelised spicy corn that are already a feature of the main restaurants' menus.
There are also chilli cheese fries, served with a mini raclette burner and topped with pickled chillies and crispy shallots.
The dessert list includes peanut chocolate tart and cookie-and-milk ice cream, and an interactive option with customers able to dunk marshmallows into a spicy chocolate fondue.
