You're invited to help make H&F more digitally accessible
WHEN: Tuesday 27 September
WHERE: Lyric Square, Hammersmith W6
FROM: 12 noon to 6pm
The Digital Accessibility Group is a collection of residents and council officers working together to make Hammersmith & Fulham a more digitally inclusive borough.
We want to make services and offers in H&F easy to access online and remove the frustrations from dealing with the council digitally.
This is your chance to meet the DAG and help us support residents to be digitally included. Come and talk to us, see the work we are doing and discover what help is available right now. You will have the chance to meet a variety of local leaders, including local councillors, volunteer organisations and charities that are helping us improve digital inclusion in the borough. This includes stalls from Citizens Advice, Age UK in Hammersmith & Fulham, Action on Disability, Sobus and representatives of two fibre optic companies working with H&F to improve local access to broadband.
Attendees will also be eligible for a 20 per cent discount at Blanche Eatery, based in Lyric Square. Details of how to redeem this offer will be available at the event.
We're always looking for residents to help us identify the barriers to digital inclusion that residents face daily and to help shape a digitally inclusive H&F that works for all.
For more details, contact David Isaac on david.isaac@lbhf.gov.uk or call 07770 794 399.
Background to the Digital Accessibility Group
The Digital Accessibility Group (DAG) is a group of 12 borough residents and 11 council officers from five council departments, working together to improve digital inclusion in H&F.
The resident part of the group cover a wide variation of age and ability, all either living or working in the borough. The DAG also includes officers working in Resident Services, Digital Services, Communications, Housing and Adult Social Care. The two parts of the group are working in co-production (residents working equally with council officers to design and implement a service that works for residents) as part of the council's mandate to work with residents, not do things to them.
The work will entail identifying the barriers to digital inclusion faced by residents, considering possible solutions, then implementing a strategic response that will allow all council services to work together to provide a coordinated solution for residents.
