Spring has sprung! So why not spend this Easter weekend exploring Hammersmith & Fulham's parks and open spaces?
H&F's parks are a perfect spot for a stroll with the family or a picnic with friends. Each one is different, from the grandeur of St Peter's Square, the glorious terrain of Wormwood Scrubs to the sports haven at Hurlingham Park: there is something for everyone.
We are proud of our parks. Nineteen of them have won the prestigious Green Flag Award.
Here is a selection of some of the best.
Ravenscourt Park
Ravenscourt Park is one of our shadier locations with more than 600 trees.
The Friends of Ravenscourt Park have created a Tree Trail map including an introduction to 25 trees for you to explore the woodland.
If you need a quiet moment, H&F has installed a bench donated by the CALM mental health charity in the walled garden at the northern end.
Wormwood Scrubs
Wormwood Scrubs is the borough's largest open space at 76.8 hectares. The scrubs are incredibly biodiverse and home to almost 250 species of wildflowers and 100 species of birds – why not try bird-watching this weekend? You might even spot some other creatures (pdf 4.4MB), like a hedgehog.
If you are looking for something more active, join the Wormwood Scrubs Parkrun – a free, weekly 5k walk, jog, or run that takes place every Saturday at 9am.
Bishops Park
Bishops Park is a gorgeous park that runs along the river Thames and is a Grade II listed site, protected by English Heritage. The park was created in 1893 from land around the Fulham Palace.
This weekend, you could cycle on the 'shared-use' cycle and pedestrian path through Bishops Park and take in the beautiful view. Take advantage of H&F's electric bike fleet which now has 750 cycles available, all part of our work to reach H&F's goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
If you have never visited Fulham Palace adjacent to the park, our friends there are hosting free events including a family fun day and escorted tours this Sunday (17 April).
Hurlingham Park
Hurlingham Park is particularly popular with sporty residents. Get active this weekend with its facilities.
The park boasts some of the best tennis courts in the borough, and there's still space to sign up for an Easter weekend slot.

Our commitment to improving our open spaces was recently recognised by Parks for London in their Good Parks for London 2021 report.
