Lift safety

The mechanical and electrical (M&E) lift team are responsible for servicing the lifts in the communal blocks to provide a safe and reliable service to those that use them and stairlifts and hoists.

Lifts, hoists and stairlifts all have the potential to cause serious harm if they are not maintained and working properly. As landlords we are legally obliged to maintain and inspect the equipment installed within our properties.

Servicing is carried out every month and annually, regular servicing not only prolongs the lifespan of the lift components but also enhances the overall safety of the system. All the lifts are on a remote monitoring system, so we are alerted if there are any issues with a lift.

Tenants play a crucial role in the maintenance, to assist us please:

  • do not use the lifts to transport sofas and other large heavy items as this may damage the lift
  • do not transport E-bikes or E scooters in the lifts as they are combustible
  • if your stairlift or hoist is not working properly please call the customer services centre on 0800 023 4499 (free from landlines and mobiles).

If you need to transport heavy goods please contact the customer services centre on 0800 023 4499 to arrange assistance
