Support from Action on Disability (AOD)
If you are an employee or just about to start a paid role AOD can help you to create a support plan to identify your support needs working with the employer. AOD will submit an Access to Work application for funding for an in-work support worker and provide the trained support worker via its Employment Services Programme.
The funding will come through Access to Work which is a government schemed with no cost to your employer.

The Access to Work programme
This government programme can help to get support if you have a disability or health condition.
Through this programme you can apply to a grant to help pay for things like:
- costs of travelling to work, if you cannot use public transport
- support workers, like a BSL interpreter, a job coach or a travel buddy
- one-to-one sessions with a mental health professional
- pay for communication support at a job interview if you have a physical or mental health condition or learning difficulty and need communication support
You do not need to be diagnosed with a condition to apply.
