A guide to local activities which support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

It includes:

  • FREE and low-cost activities
  • term time and weekend activities, after-school and holiday clubs
  • drop-ins, group sessions, soft play and trampoline areas
  • music, dancing, arts, social clubs and indoor activities
  • sports: swimming, football, tennis and more

These activities are provided by H&F Council and external organisations that have been recommended by parents and young people.

Some activities are for all children, some are for groups of children with mixed abilities, and some are dedicated sessions for children with SEND. Many providers are welcoming of children with a wide of needs, even though they are not specialist disability services, so it is always helpful to contact any provider of a service your child is interested in attending. Even if a provider is specialist, we still advise you to contact the provider to discuss your child's individual needs to enable their full participation in the activities.

Children with an assessed social care need, may receive funding for activities, this could be paid as a direct payment. See Short breaks for Disabled children and young people and Guide to direct payments for parents and carers.
