Hammersmith & Fulham Council has unveiled eye-catching new artwork to promote North End Road's historic market.

A colourful, cheerful installation opposite West Brompton tube station is picked up on lamppost banners running from the station along Lillie Road into and along North End Road.

The artwork trail highlights the market's varied offer and the road's popular features, including the striking lion statue on the Crowther Market building.

Eat well for less

"We hope this will draw people into discovering North End Road and all it has to offer, especially in these tough economic times", said H&F Cllr Ben Coleman.

"When money is so tight, getting your fruit and veg at North End Road's low-cost, high‑quality market is a great way of eating well for less."

The space for the installation was kindly provided by the Earls Court Development Company and the artwork was designed by Fulham-based creative agency Chorus.

Investing in North End Road

The new artwork is part of the council's investment programme to boost visitors to Fulham's North End Road with:

  • new footways, flowerbeds and trees
  • new water and electricity for market traders
  • more shopper parking at just 20p for 30 minutes.
