Two extra weekends of traffic disruption have been added to the roadwork schedule on the elevated A40 Westway.
Transport for London is alerting residents that more closures are needed as work continues until summer to replace the flyover's ageing 50-year-old expansion joints, which grow and shrink depending on the weather.
But TfL hopes that by closing off the road from 30 May to 2 June, and from 6 to 9 June, it will avoid the need for future disruption.
The Westway will be closed westbound-only from the Friday night to early Monday to replace an expansion joint at St Mark's Road, Notting Hill, at the junction with Malton Road.
Delays are expected, and diversions will be in place. Weekdays are not affected.
Meanwhile all roadworks are suspended over Easter weekend (18-21 April), and over the May bank holidays from 2-5 May and from 23-26 May. Details on the TfL webpage.
