Join us for Covid Day of Reflection – Tree planting in Furnivall Gardens

Join us as we remember everyone impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic

Furnivall Gardens

You're invited to join H&F Council in marking Covid Day of Reflection on Monday (10 March) with an oak tree planting ceremony.

Led by H&F Leader Stephen Cowan, the planting will take place in Furnivall Gardens at 10.30am.

Cllr Cowan invited everyone to come and take part in the planting as a mark of respect.

The end of the pandemic was a real cause for optimism. The pandemic provided us with new insights, taught us new lessons, and showed us we have a huge opportunity to shape a better future for all. It also renewed our gratitude for our NHS, care and public services. I invite everyone to come and watch the planting and pay their respects."

The tree will grow as a living memorial to every resident impacted by Covid. It will have a plaque that is inscribed with the words: "For Those We Lost To Covid, And For Those They Left Behind".

The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Lighting up – Charing Cross Hospital

Over the weekend (Saturday 8 March and Sunday 9 March), we will also be lighting up Charing Cross Hospital to honour the healthcare workers and patients who faced the challenges of the pandemic.
