Hammersmith Library is closed for four weeks while essential maintenance works take place.

We still have a full range of services available to residents who may be affected by the closure. Why not check out one of our many other libraries in the borough?

Works are set to finish in time to allow reopening on Saturday 21 December. In the meantime, library members can still drop off any books they have had issued in our collection bin outside the library, or at any other library in the borough.

Any books due during the closure period have been automatically extended through until the first week of January.

Our other libraries all also remain open for your use, and our online library is open 24/7 for all your e-book, e-audio e-magazine and e-newspaper needs. These are based at:

A library access point with limited services has been set up at 145 King Street (pictured)

Hammersmith Library Access Point

For anyone who needs to get in touch with our Hammersmith-based staff, we have opened a limited services library access point on the ground floor at 145 King Street.

This temporary library access point will be open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, with a small range of titles to choose from. From here, you will be able to:

  • pick up any reservations made before 25 November
  • return any books you may have already borrowed
  • browse a small selection of books we have on site
  • speak to our staff.

The library access point will close on Wednesday 18 December. The library will be back up and running as normal on Saturday 21 December and we apologise for the inconvenience.
