Hammersmith & Fulham has everything you need to boost your style and cut your carbon footprint this London Fashion Week (12 to 17 September).

Here’s our handy hints below:

Make your own clothes

Learn to design, cut and sew your own unique pieces, while reducing waste and expressing your creativity.

  • Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 9pm

19 September

  • Thursdays from 10am to 12:30pm

Mend and restyle

Lost a button or split a seam on your favourite outfit? Don’t chuck it, take your clothes to Livat Hammersmith’s mending circle for a free repair. The next session is on Saturday 28 September from 1pm to 3pm.

Run by White City local Marisol Córdoba, you’ll gain new skills and be able to make light repairs and alterations on pre-loved items.

Shop second-hand chic

Refresh your wardrobe and join in Second Hand September by only shopping in local charity shops this month.

Across the borough we have Oxfam, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Scope stores and more.

Explore or suggest charity shops in H&F using our climate community map. By shopping second-hand, you’re not only finding unique pieces but also supporting local charities and reducing demand for new clothing production.

Declutter for a good cause

Planning on refreshing your wardrobe this autumn? TRAID makes donating your pre-loved items easier than ever with home collections.

You can book a free collection, find a clothing bank or donate in-store at either their Shepherds Bush or Hammersmith location.

The textile reuse charity is on a mission to collect 250,000 garments this month. Visit their website for more information.

With so many sustainable fashion options right here in H&F, you can look great and feel good about your environmental impact this London Fashion Week.
