A new art gallery has been launched in Shepherds Bush. Its first exhibition will display a seasonal celebration of flowers.
The new Askew Gallery is located at 159 Askew Road, opposite The Orchard pub and close to the junction with Curwen Road.
The inaugural show, For The Love of Flowers, runs from 3 May to 7 May (noon-5pm).
You can register to attend a private view from 5-9pm on Thursday 2 May, or you can meet the artists and have a look at the show from noon-2pm on Saturday 4 May.
The trio of Shepherds Bush artists taking part are Isabel Dodd, Kate Fishenden and Philippa Smith, with the range of work on display spanning textiles, screenprints and floral installations.
There will be craft-based workshops during the week, for adults and children, while much of the work in the exhibition will be for sale, together with flower-related cards and tea towels.
The Askew Gallery is a new art space – reached via a spiral staircase and housed within the CP Architects office. It has been created by CP partners Warren Hagues and Matt Hedges. Plans are afoot for a series of artist events through the year.

Artists in Askew Road
Isabel Dodd, a textile artist from Wormholt Road who lectures at Chelsea College of Art, recreates the shape of flowers using stitched fabric. Some of her works are housed under domes, while others are perched on plinths. She also offers a wedding flower service, using fabric to recreate bridal bouquets as long-lasting keepsakes.
Kate Fishenden, who works from a studio in nearby Greenside Road, creates silkscreen prints based on watercolour pictures of flowers.
Philippa Smith is a floral designer who makes flower installations. She runs Francis Smith Flowers, three doors down from the gallery in Askew Road.
