Diana’s journey
"I wanted to do something meaningful, something that has purpose, and something that I can look back on and be proud of in years to come," Diana said, explaining why she originally signed up for the childcare course at the Macbeth Centre.
"I have two daughters of my own," she shared.
"And through them I became aware of the importance of the physical, personal, social, and emotional development that every child gets outside the family home. I've also been able to put into practice all the knowledge I have gained in my course."
The curriculum helped her not only gain practical skills to land her new role but also the professional qualification, an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the early years workforce, which was a requirement as it is for many childcare jobs.
"I think it is very rewarding to know that no matter how small, I am making a positive impact in a child's life. I am able to see it through their smiles and how well they develop as they grow," she added.
Diana also took our short Mental Health Awareness class, and she's not done yet: "After gaining more experience in the field, I want to carry on studying to achieve a university degree. My plan is never to stop learning."
