H&F had the record largest reduction in flytipping in London last year, according to government figures published last week. We cut it by 32.6%, ahead of Newham at 32.4%.
H&F Leader Stephen Cowan welcomed the news, saying:
Making our streets cleaner and more beautiful is central to everything we do. That's why we have taken a wide range of actions to stop fly-tipping which is why we're getting such excellent results. We will always be vigilant as we strive to make Hammersmith & Fulham the best place to live and work in London."
The data shows 20,032 incidents of flytipping were issued in 2021-22, with 1,454 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) issued.
The following year, 2022-23, we cut this number to 13,504 incidents, while almost doubling the number of FPNs to 2,863.
It's the result of H&F's extensive CCTV network – the densest anywhere in the country – backed by daily patrols carried out by H&F's pioneering Law Enforcement Team.
