Detroit-style pizzas are emerging from the ovens after the launch of a new restaurant in White City's Television Centre.
Kin Pizza is introducing the new steel-pan style pizza in the old BBC building in Wood Lane.
In true Motor City fashion, the pizzas are rectangular and thicker, topped to the edges, surrounded by a cheesy crust and supported by a crispy base.
Co-founder and executive chef Craig McBea began his career in the Royal Navy, ensuring ship crews were well fed, before returning to land and managing kitchens for the Revolution bar group and Wagamama.
But pizzas were always his first love. Now he's got together with fellow foodie Phil Mason to fire up the ovens with Detroit-style dishes topped with fresh, ethically sourced ingredients.
Options include:
- Tuscany Love - with Italian fennel sausage, pickled fennel and rosemary on a white base
- Yorkshire - beef cheek, Yorkshire blue cheese and Yorkshire pudding crumb, on a gravy base
- Triple Pepperoni - three versions on top: spicy slices, pepperoni crisps and sauce.
