Three camels led by shepherds will spread Christmas joy to the sound of festive songs as part of a unlikely procession in Fulham.
The camels – ridden by three kings in festive regalia – will star in St Etheldreda church's spectacular Christmas event on Sunday 3 December.
Open to all, the procession will see the camels meander through the streets of Fulham accompanied by a soundtrack of seasonal music.
Fulham Palace Road start
Starting at St Eth's church in Fulham Palace Road at 4pm, the 40-minute procession will snake down Doneraile Street, along Stevenage Road by Bishops Park, and up Queensmill Road.
Pausing at Queen's Manor Primary School, the camel caravan will then head along Woodlawn Road, turning back into Doneraile Street to return to the church.
Father Ross Gunderson, vicar at St Eth's, says: "We want to share the joy of the festive season at this inclusive, community event.
"Everyone is welcome – the purpose is to create a joyous event for all to partake in getting into the Christmas mood. It will be incredible and not to be missed.
"It's geared towards everyone who lives in the area and their friends. It promises to be fun for families and all local residents who want to come together and enjoy music, entertainment and good food."
The festive fun will continue from 5pm when St Eth's music director Russell Swallow will lead a medley of outdoor Christmas carols, accompanied by musicians from Fulham Brass Band.
Keen local singers are encouraged to join in, as members of the church choir share their vocal talents.
Classic favourites including Silent Night; Hark! The Herald Angels Sing; Away in a Manger; and O Little Town of Bethlehem will be some of the musical treats on the evening's song sheet.
Visitors can tuck into street food including Mexican treats and burgers, as well as enjoying a hot chocolate or mulled wine to keep away the chill during the Christmas event.
