Clear the diary for an action-packed day of family fun as two community fairs bring the party to H&F on Saturday 1 July.
The Parsons Green Fair and Love West Ken summer events are back with a bang, showcasing an array of free live music and dance performances, stalls and family-friendly activities.
Don't miss these free community events, supporting the Fulham Good Neighbours charity and St Mary's West Kensington.
Parsons Green Fair
Saturday 1 July
11.30am to 5.30pm
Live dance and music performances, a fun fair, magicians, donkey rides and a petting zoo are just some of the treats planned for the annual summer event on Saturday 1 July on Parsons Green, Fulham.
The fun day – being held from 11.30am to 5.30pm – will also include a circus workshop, food, drinks and more than 100 stalls packed with clothes, jewellery, toys, delicious treats, antiques and gifts.
Celebrating the local community to the max, the fair will showcase the talents of young musicians from the London Youth Conservatoire – based at Lady Margaret School – as well as groups including Stagecoach Theatre Arts Fulham, Irish dancing from Thomas's Academy, and The Rhythm Studio music academy.
Launched 30 years ago, the Parsons Green Fair is brimming with free family fun, including face painting, a temporary tattoo parlour, and balloon modelling.
Little ones can experience a donkey ride or make friends with rabbits, ducklings and other small animals at the petting zoo.
Lunch and snack time is covered too with a range of treats from local food suppliers available all day.
Nicky Sansom, event organiser and trustee at Fulham Good Neighbours, explains: "Parsons Green Fair is a brilliant event for all ages and such a lovely day out.
"It's like an old-fashioned country fair and is all about bringing the community together to have fun while raising the profile of the Fulham Good Neighbours charity."
Sponsored by Fulham-based businesses including Marston Properties and John D Wood, all profits from the event are donated to Fulham Good Neighbours, a local charity who have supported older and Disabled people in Fulham since 1966.
The charity offers free gardening, decorating and DIY services with the support of 100 local volunteers, who work on projects including befriending, digital inclusion and a Good Neighbour Scheme.
The community centre on Rosaline Road also hosts social club activities six days a week including art, chair-based exercise, choir, craft, digital drop-in, reading, lunch, and Sunday tea.
Check out the full lineup of performances, activities and stalls on the Parsons Green Fair website.
Love West Ken
Saturday 1 July
11am to 3pm
Calling all fire engine fans – the team from Hammersmith Fire Station will be bringing their engine along to this year's Love West Ken neighbourhood event on Saturday 1 July.
Families can learn all about the engine from London Fire Brigade firefighters during the summer fair, being held at St Mary's West Kensington, on the corner of Hammersmith Road and Edith Road.
The fun continues through the event with a bouncy castle, story tent, free face painting, a baby and toddler rave and an outdoor stage showcasing live music from local performers.
Kicking off at 11am and running until 3pm, the Love West Ken event is back for a second year after launching in 2022 as a way to celebrate the buzzing neighbourhood, explains Reverend Josh Lees, of St Mary's West Kensington.
Hammersmith MP Andy Slaughter is due to open the summer fair, before visitors can enjoy a range of activities that also include a pop-up art gallery and food vans.
A STEM-focused session using Lego bricks will delight little ones who love to explore science, while gardening fans can learn more about green opportunities in the borough from Hammersmith Community Gardens Association volunteers.
Charities including St Mungo's and West London Welcome community centre will also be sharing information about their work during the event.
