You're invited to this weekend's Green Meet at Fulham Palace. It's an action-packed day of workshops, tours, crafts and stalls.
Come along to celebrate on Sunday (April 30) and all the spring beauty at the historic site in Bishops Avenue in Fulham. The day of free live music and eco-friendly activities kicks off at 11am and runs until 4pm. Get your free tickets below.
"We're excited to be able to once again welcome visitors of all ages to learn, explore, and enjoy a day out in the blossoming Palace gardens," said event organiser Isabel Ricketts.
From seed swaps to upcycling workshop for kids and guided tours of – and picnics in – the gardens. Here's what the Palace has in store for you.
Garden games
More than 45 stalls will offer sustainably-produced fresh flowers, locally-sourced honey and preserves, as well as handcrafted items from green woodworkers.
A seed swap is your chance to exchange leftover seeds for different varieties, while free interactive garden games are taking place in the walled garden.
Why not try out yoga for all the family at one of the half-hour sessions with the Everybody Yoga Company? Aimed at children aged three to 10 and accompanying adults.
Meanwhile, at a children's upcycling workshop with Green up your Act you can discover exciting ways to turn old materials into a unique notebook to take home. Or join the team at Sunny Jar Eco Hub to delve into creating homemade pickled treats, including pickles, sauerkraut and apple cider vinegar, to help reduce food waste.
A pre-loved pop-up pavilion will share tips to help local fashionistas make the most of wardrobe items, whether they are vintage, high street or luxury.
Green tips
Ecologists from H&F Council's climate team will share how we're working to cut carbon emissions and boost biodiversity through green schemes. We are also inviting local eco enthusiasts of all ages to take action together – or just try your luck at the slug game!
You can also learn about composting, bird life or the Palace's ancient moat in mini-tours from a team of garden apprentices. Or meet Fulham Palace's brand-new crew of chickens in a series of talks around the 13-acre site.
Speaker on the day will include Fulham Palace's head gardener, Lucy Hart, principal curator of the Natural History Museum, Miranda Lowe.
FREE tickets are still up for grabs. Register your interest, find out more or consider donating via the Fulham Palace website.
