Children aged one to nine are now being offered a dose of polio vaccine.
There are signs that polio may be spreading in London and the number of children vaccinated in London is lower than it should be. Polio is a highly infectious disease that can cause total paralysis in a matter of hours for any age – but mainly affects children aged three and under.
"Boosting immunity in children should help protect them and reduce the risk of the virus continuing to spread," said Dr Nicola Lang, Director of Public Health for Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
If your child is five to nine years old, you can attend a walk-in polio vaccine clinic on our vaccine bus at:
The Community Hub
1a Aisgill Avenue, Gibbs Green Estate, W14 9NF
No walk-in clinic sessions currently scheduled.

Polio vaccines are no longer being administered at 145 King Street in Hammersmith.
If your child is one to four years old, your GP should have been in touch about a polio jab. If not, please contact them to arrange a vaccination.
Some children may need an extra dose on top of their routine vaccinations. In other children, it may bring them up to date with their routine vaccinations.
