Hammersmith & Fulham Council is set to deliver more than 250 homes in the heart of White City.
We're working with residents on the estate to redevelop the central area between India Way and Canada Way. No existing social housing on the estate will be demolished and no private developers will be involved.
Fifty per cent of the new homes delivered as part of the White City Central project will be affordable, with a mix of social rented and shared ownership homes.
The other half will be available to buy on the open market. The money raised by their sale will help fund the new affordable housing, accessible community facilities and amazing outdoor areas.
The programme is part of our plans to deliver 3,000 new homes over the next eight years.
Affordable homes
"We're committed to working closely with the community as we deliver the greatest number of genuinely affordable homes in a decade," said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for the Economy.
"The cornerstone of our Industrial Strategy is to share the prosperity of a booming White City with local residents to ensure that the next generation can also call H&F home."
The current plans include:
- a large new community hub – set to feature a cafe, teaching kitchen, and workshop
- a new nursery and forest school designed with Randolph Beresford Nursery
- a new community garden
- a new outdoor gym
- a new adventure playground designed with local children
- and improved public realm.
These will all be built in and around Bridget Joyce Square.
"This is a once in a generation – or rather, once in several generations – opportunity to provide truly affordable housing for local White City residents," said Father Richard Nesbitt, 55, local resident and chair of the White City Residents Advisory Panel.
"It is a truly resident-led project specifically designed to bring long-lasting benefits to our community. Let White City shine brightly for all to see!"

Join the Construction Working Group
Subject to planning permission, construction will begin mid-2023, with the first phase completed by 2026.
The Construction Working Group will play a key part in keeping the disruption for surrounding residents to a minimum by:
- selecting the contractors
- co-producing the construction strategy alongside H&F Council
- offering guidance and insights to ensure the contraction is considerably managed.
We look forward to receiving applications from a range of communities.
We particularly encourage residents to join who are living closest to the site, including Cornwallis House, Denham House, Champlain House, Evans House and Mackay House.
For more information and to join the group, please contact Kelvin.Tame@lbhf.gov.uk.
