Hammersmith & Fulham's first all-electric vehicle charging hub has opened its doors in Fulham Road.
The converted petrol station is the first of its kind in the world. It's the first to be transformed into a Shell Recharge site for electric vehicles only.
The redesign has been welcomed by H&F Council which has long been ahead of the curve when it comes to EV charging.
H&F Leader Cllr Stephen Cowan was joined by Shell executive Steve Bean, Network Delivery Manager UK, for the unveiling of their Fulham location.
"This station is a first in Britain, and we're grateful for Shell for choosing Fulham as its new home", said Cllr Cowan.
"It fits with our wider objectives of being the greenest borough in the country. You can charge your electric car here and at so many other places around the borough – it's all very convenient."

In a rush and in need of a quick top-up?
No problem at Shell Fulham.
Petrol and diesel pumps have given way to nine high-powered, ultra-rapid 175kW charge points that run on 100% certified renewable electricity. While charge times may differ from car model to car model, ultra-rapid chargers are able to take most e-vehicles' batteries from 0-80% in less than 20 minutes.
That's roughly three times faster than the more widely used 50kW rapid chargers.
The chargers are compatible with most EVs and operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. With no minimum charge time, additional subscription fee or connection charges, customers will only be charged for the electricity they use.
Once plugged in, EV drivers are able to "tap or app" to start their session. Accepted forms of payment include contactless, the Shell Recharge card or the Shell Recharge app, which can also be used to check for available charge posts in advance.
When in doubt, dedicated Shell service champions are available on site to offer guidance and charging assistance.
"We are delighted to open our first EV charging hub in the UK in Fulham. We understand that EV drivers want a fast, convenient and comfortable charging experience, and this is exactly what we are offering at Shell Fulham", said Bernie Williamson, GM Mobility, UK.
"We are growing our Shell Recharge network to give more drivers the confidence to switch."
Environmentally friendly design
EVs are not the only things being powered with green energy at the on-forecourt charge hub.
The hub features a sustainable design including solar panels that generate renewable electricity for the site, as well as double glazed roof and shop front windows for better insulation.
Instead of using steel, its canopy is made up of sustainable building materials such as sheets of timber, which use much less energy to produce and transport.
The hub is located at 923-931 Fulham Road, London SW6 5HY.
The charge hub forms the latest addition to H&F's fast-paced rollout of electric vehicle charging points, which is just one of the urgent actions we are taking to tackle the climate emergency as we aim to make H&F carbon net-zero by 2030.
