We take the wellbeing of our staff seriously and any disclosures of abuse by staff will be dealt with sensitively, in line with the council's staff domestic abuse policy.
We encourage any disclosures from staff who:
- are at risk of abuse
- are worried about perpetrating harm
- have concerns about the behaviour of their colleague.
Any staff member found to be perpetrating domestic abuse could face disciplinary action, temporary redeployment, or a change of duties.
Working with cases of domestic abuse can be distressing for staff members, and support is available through line management, case supervision and our employee assistance programme.
