Becoming a provider

Who is eligible?

Lots of different organisations are eligible to become HAF providers.

These include:

  • church groups
  • forest schools
  • specialist SEND providers
  • youth groups
  • sports clubs
  • farms
  • leisure centres
  • theatre schools
  • libraries.

What are the programme expectations?

  • Provide 85% of places to benefit related free school meal children.
  • Operate for a minimum of 4 hours a day.
  • Include both enriching and physical activities to create a balanced programme for children and young people.
  • Incorporate helping children to understand more about the benefits of healthy eating and nutrition as well as opportunities to learn about healthy lifestyles and exercise.
  • Include a healthy meal for each attendee.

  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Safeguarding policy
  • Health and safety policy
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
  • Risk assessment
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
