I've been working at Hammersmith and Fulham since March 2015 and progressed in the same service in the same team working for the family support and Child Protection Team which mainly deals with the safeguarding and supporting of Children and Families within the local area.
Here I've been able to grow as a social worker and there's been lots of opportunities for me to progress. I've made some fantastic friends being in Hammersmith and Fulham, friends that will be friends forever.
And we all, we all tend to lean on each other because we all understand and appreciate and respect how difficult this job can be at times.
But also, the area itself, unwinding is really important and having ways to alleviate stresses is really important, even though it's a small borough, there are places that you can visit like Lyric Square or you can go down by the Thames, the park across the road that runs along the River Thames, there are ways to kind of get out an externalise that stress.
Thinking about my journey and thinking about the things that I've been able to achieve not just for myself personally, but for some of the families that I've worked with.
There's nothing more rewarding than that and that in itself is life-changing the fact that when you come to the end and you want to stand up and say I made a difference I can actually turn around and say I made a difference and that to me is exceptionally priceless and that's how that's changed your life.
Come and join us in our amazing team and join us in our mission to make a difference in Hammersmith and Fulham local authority
