We're working with local schools to make school runs safer and less polluted for Hammersmith & Fulham children.
Led by school parents, pupils and staff, the School Streets Plus programme forms the next step of H&F's wider works to improve residents' health and clean the local air.
London is already home to more than 500 school streets, with a proven track record of improving air quality, traffic congestion, road safety and children's physical wellbeing.
H&F's first schemes launch in September 2024, initially on a trial basis, in Shepherds Bush and Fulham.
Alongside the temporary road closures during peak drop-off and pick-up times, a range of public realm improvements including tree planting and better infrastructure for walking and cycling will make the wider area greener and cleaner.
