Hammersmith & Fulham’s riverfront is rich in heritage and has an array of excellent arts and hospitality businesses – although it is still a hidden gem for many residents.
River facing businesses have joined to form a business group with the aims of turning the riverfront into year-round leisure destination for residents, workers and visitors to H&F alike, to spend time along the riverfront and sample its beautiful views, food, drink, nature and culture.
Members include:
- Fulham Reach boat club
- Riverside studios
- Vanilla Moon Weddings
- Auriol Kensington Rowing Club
The group has put in place a clear action plan, with a focus on branding, marketing and a public wayfinding art signage scheme. There are signs leading from the station and Hammersmith’s King Street to help people find their way to the river and spot all the beautiful river themed art created by local river lovers.
On 3 December 2023 the group organised a day of running, music, treats and market stalls located at Riverfront Studios. This first Festive Fun River Run raised funds to encourage and support accessibility for those that otherwise couldn’t take part in rowing on the river Thames. Rowing programmes have been made available to those with less financial means and for a prison rehabilitation programme.
This year the business group are hoping to have an even bigger and better second edition of the Festive Fun River Run on Sunday 1st December 2024.
