New permit system and pricing structure

Our parking permits are now based on vehicle emission bandings with new options available, including monthly subscriptions, to help spread the cost and make the process of renewing your permit much easier to manage.

Business parking permits

If your business operates from an address in a controlled parking zone in H&F you can apply for a business parking permit.

The number of business parking permits you may apply for now depends on vehicle emission bandings. You may apply for a maximum of:

• 5 permits if your vehicles all sit within bands 1 to 3
• 3 permits if one or two vehicles sit within bands 1 to 3 and the other vehicles are bands 4 to 7
• 2 permits if your vehicles all sit within bands 4 to 7

Costs

You can pay for your parking permit per month as well as every six months, or every 12 months.

Businesses will need to give us proof of your business operation including:

• a copy of your business rates bill or tenancy agreement

AND

• two different utility bills (gas, electricity, water or telephone landline, dated within the last three months).

Renewing your permit

Because we have moved to a new permit system, to renew your permit you will need to make a new application and upload any required supporting proofs.

Changing your vehicle or moving within the borough

Please note, depending on the number of permits you currently hold and the emissions associated with those vehicles, you may not be eligible for a permit. You may also be subject to additional charges due to the new emission bandings.

Cancelling your permit and refunds

If you no longer need your parking permit, we'll give you a refund.

If your permit was purchased before February 3 2025 (in the old system)

1. We divide the original cost of the permit by the duration of the permit (i.e. by six or 12 months) to give a monthly refund amount.
2. We multiply this monthly amount by the number of full calendar months left on the permit.
3. We then round down the refund amount to the nearest whole pound (£).

If your permit was purchased on or after February 3 2025 (in the new system)

1. We divide the original cost of the permit by the duration of the permit (i.e. by the number of days) to give a daily refund amount.
2. We multiply this daily amount by the number of days left on the permit.
3. We then round down the refund amount to the nearest whole pound (£).

Where possible, refunds will be processed back to the original payment card, normally within 14 days of the date we receive your request. If we are unable to refund back to a payment card, we will ask you for a UK bank account to pay the refund into.

Business visitor permits for businesses in the borough

A business visitor permit (BVP) allows businesses to offer on-street parking to their customers at a reduced rate.

A BVP offers convenient parking in nearby bays during the controlled hours of the zone the business is in.

The permit itself is free, and charges only apply when booking a session. The permit is valid for one year and can be renewed via the RingGo website.

The permit is available to businesses located in a controlled parking zone (CPZ) in H&F. Business rates bill is required during the application process.

• Band 1 (0g/km CO2) - £2.50 per hour
• Band 2 (1-75g/km CO2) - £2.50 per hour
• Band 3 (76-120g/km CO2) - £3.50 per hour
• Band 4 (120-150g/km CO2) - £3.50per hour
• Band 5 (151-186g/km CO2) - £4.25 per hour
• Band 6 (186-225g/km CO2) - £5.00 per hour
• Band 7 (225+g/km CO2) - £5.00 per hour

Apply for a business visitor access permit

All day trader permits

An all day trader permit is intended to be used by builders, traders and other service providers who require on-street parking when working for a local resident or business.

Anyone can apply. The permit allows a driver to park their vehicle, in a shared use bay, outside or close to the property they are working for eight hours (9am-5pm), at a cost of £30. Where operational hours start before 9am the session will still cover you to park until 5pm.

The trade permit is only valid for the vehicle it has been purchased for and is not transferable. It is non-refundable and does not guarantee a parking space, so we recommended you purchase the permit once you have found a parking space.

This permit type does not allow a driver to move onto other streets in the borough, it is designed to provide parking at one specific location.

If you are not going to park outside the same property for the working day, please use the on-street RingGo codes provided.

How to apply:

• Know the CPZ and the property address where you are working
• Make a note of your vehicle registration mark
• Visit the RingGo website to apply for your permit
• If you require to park past 5pm please use the on-street RingGo codes provided.
