Mayor's Cup football at Ravenscourt Park, Lena Gardens v Greenside. Jahmal Sanderson collects the ball for Greenside
A flurry of high-scoring matches has added real spice to the Mayor’s Cup as the borough’s primary schools football tournament enters its final eight weeks.
Queen’s Manor boys inflicted a 6-0 drubbing on lacklustre St Augustine’s at Hurlingham Park last week, but spectators’ eyebrows really rose when Langford beat St John’s 7-0.
In the northern half of the borough, with matches played on the Ravenscourt Park all-weather pitches, reigning boys’ champions Brackenbury are still on course to retain the trophy after scoring two victories (both 4-0 wins) and a draw.
