From 1st September 2019 Bayonne and James Lee Nursery Schools federated with Melcombe Primary School to form the Thames Federation. The schools in the federation will be governed by one governing body and with one headteacher and leadership team.
The benefits of a federation between the three schools are:
- It will lead to exciting opportunities to the benefit of the school communities and the wider local community
- It brings together very successful organisations to create a strong centre of good practice in the area
- It would secure nursery school provision in a sustainable fashion
- It would create a secure, stable learning structure providing more opportunities for a seamless transition between pre-school, nursery and reception
- It will have professional and career benefits for staff
