How to contribute to the family information directory

How to add a directory listing to the family information directory.

The family information directory (FID) website provides information to parents, prospective parents, and carers, on services for children and young people aged 0 to 19 years, or up to 25 if the child has a special educational need or disability (SEND). This includes advice, guidance and information on accessible local services and national sources of support.

A variety of different services are published on the sites, including those from:

  • education
  • health
  • childcare
  • family support
  • social care
  • and those providing activities and events.

Service providers can promote their services on our website at no cost if they support the wellbeing of children, young people, or their families, including those with SEND.

Eligible providers are:

  1. Ofsted registered childcare providers in Hammersmith and Fulham, such as registered childminders, nurseries, home child carers, and out-of-school care providers
  2. Specialist support services or public or third sector organisations either nationally recognised or operating within Hammersmith and Fulham.

Adding or amending your provider details on the directory

We do not have a provider user account function on the website. Please contact us at FIS2@lbhf.gov.uk if you can't find a record that you have submitted previously or would like a new record added or an existing one updated.

What organisations can be included in the directory

Unfortunately, not all requests to be included in the directory will meet our eligibility criteria.

Organisations who provide free or low cost or funded accessible services to residents in our borough will be prioritised.

The Early education and childcare statutory guidance for local authorities explains the need to promote specialist support services which are national sources of support, public and third sector, especially to those families who are at a disadvantage. Additionally, to provide advice on topics including health, education, and parenting.

With the large number of services for children and families within the borough and nationally, it is also not possible to assess them all and maintain a quality service on an ongoing basis.

How much detail to include

If you have your own website where the details and further information can be found, we would prefer you to request that we publish only the basic details of your organisation or event in our directory and we will link to the relevant pages on your website.

When your my new listings or update will be published

Once we have all the information and approved the content we will publish your entry within 5 working days.

How to update a service record

Contact us and let us know at FIS2@lbhf.gov.uk.

We reserve the right to remove your service from our local offer listing if there are complaints raised against it, or it does not meet our standards.

If your service is listed, there is a responsibility on you to ensure you contact us to update your record with any changes and that the record is kept accurate and up to date.

How often to make an update

You should send details to us to update your record as soon as any of your public facing information changes.

If you provide information about the number of available vacancies you have, we would encourage you to check and/or update this at least twice a term. This information is particularly useful for prospective customers wanting to know about your current availability.

Uploading photographs and images

See advice above regarding adding images. A small logo image will help identify your record in search results and help it stand out.

Adding photographs can really help users to understand the services you offer via a quick and visual representation. If using photographs of service users, please ensure you have express written consent to feature them on this website and provide evidence of this with your email submission.
