- TOPS Community

Youngsters between the ages of four and 18 can take part in top quality sports programmes as part of a joint scheme with the Youth Sports Trust. These programmes are run in our schools and in the local community.

As well as the many exciting sports on offer, the programme also helps sports clubs to set up quality junior sections.

If you want to know more about the TOPS programmes telephone 020 7736 1504.

- Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Young people also have the opportunity to experience a range of exciting activities as part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.

The activities, which include an expedition, aim to challenge young people and stretch their abilities to the full.

- Sports Leaders UK - Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership

This nationally recognised award uses sport to help people develop vital skills for life such as planning and organising oneself and others, teamwork, communications and organisation. Candidates must be at least 14 years of age to start the award. You do not need to be a sporting superstar, just some get up and go and an interest in helping others is all that is needed.

The award is a 'hands on' course, which is practically taught. At the end of the course, candidates put the skills learnt into action by leading a minimum one hour of sporting activity for which they have been the sole organiser. Whilst each course can be tailored to meet the requirements of particular groups, it takes about 32 hours to complete the whole course.
