About us
Little Muffins is a private day care nursery situated in a beautiful Georgian town house and conveniently located on the border of Chiswick and Hammersmith.
We adhere to the requirements of the 'Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage', and our philosophy is that every child we care for deserves a calm, caring, safe and stimulating environment in which to learn.
We also offer extra-curricular activities for our children including:
- 'Wake up and shake up' an activity to energise the brain
- a cookery station which incorporates many aspects of the curriculum
- community visits which allow children to experience outside social activities.
We also offer bespoke activities that promote your child's wellbeing and confidence and our own gardening activity supported by the Royal Horticultural Society's School Gardening Awards training programme.
Supporting children with additional needs
We develop a special educational needs (SEN) support plan for each individual child so we can track their progress and plan next steps. The plan helps us develop a clear understanding of each child.
Our learning environments and resources really support each individual child ranging from various sensory materials, now and then display boards and making each child their own personalised routine book.
We find that having visuals around the room encourage the children to follow the nursery routine but also supports their emotions and transitions as they can understand what is going to come next.
As a nursery we think communicating with our parents regularly is very important so methods incorporated at home can also be implemented into the nursery. We also work closely with external agencies such as speech and language therapists and educational psychologists.
