Nursery (2 to 5 years old)
First Bridge Centre is a purpose-built therapy centre that provides the optimal environment for the children in our care to learn and develop measurably and effectively. We are an Ofsted-accredited outcomes-focused intervention centre that uses evidence-based practices to fundamentally change the trajectory of learning, despite the initial challenges a child may face to their development in the first years of their life.
The children receive intensive therapy and natural environment teaching across all developmental milestones (both in the classrooms and outdoors in the garden). This is delivered 1:1 by our dedicated team, ensuring continuity of learning across activities and settings.
Time is spent learning in the classroom, as well as in the soft-play area and the spacious and well-equipped garden. In addition to our 1:1 bespoke therapy programmes, children participate in daily structured classroom routines, such as morning and afternoon circle time, which are designed to teach the children classroom readiness skills in a natural and fun environment alongside their peers.
School (4 to 9 years old)
First Bridge School is a highly specialist independent school for children with additional educational needs. We use an integrated therapy approach, guided by the principles of behaviour analysis, and utilise the most cutting-edge, evidence-based practice to support our children and young learners to learn life-enhancing skills.
The First Bridge School model synthesises the best-known practice from education, with scientifically validated, evidence-based teaching principles and procedures, to maximise every child's potential for learning. As part of our highly individualised services, we offer a thorough multidisciplinary intake assessment and ongoing re-assessments every 6 months to ensure each child in our care is achieving to their potential.
Our curricula are bespoke to each child's needs, motivation, and individual learning trajectory. Every child is valued and celebrated for their successes and what these hold for them and their future. In addition to our 1:1 individualised therapy programme, children participate in daily structured classroom activities with clinical supervisors alongside the teaching team to deliver an enriched curriculum.
