The Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team for deaf children provides support for infants and children (0 to 5 years old) who have a GP in Hammersmith and Fulham.
We are a team of speech and language therapists collaborating with parents, carers, and professionals such as qualified teachers of the deaf, multi-sensory impairment teachers, educational audiologists and clinical scientists or audiologists. We accept referrals for children with permanent hearing loss who use different types of hearing technology and different communication modes.
We work with infants, children and their families in many ways, including:
- Offering assessments
- Providing therapy
- Providing online sessions to parents/carers/educators
- Providing online training to professionals to give them the skills and confidence to support the children they work with
- Working in various locations: homes, schools, nurseries, children’s centres, and clinics
- Giving tips, advice, and strategies and adult coaching
