Choice Advice

An independent Choice Advice service is available to those parents/carers who may, for a variety of reasons, experience particular difficulty in selecting a secondary school place or completing the necessary forms. If you would like to find out more about this service and to find out if you are eligible to access this support, please contact Elaine Detain on 020 8753 2980 or at choiceadvice@lbhf.gov.uk

Choice Advice provides additional support for parents and carers of young people currently in Year 6 at primary school, to ensure they apply for a secondary school place in time. Choice Advice is an independent and impartial service that is available to those parents who are at risk of not engaging with the secondary transfer process or those who may find the system difficult to navigate.

Target groups include those who experience problems with reading and writing or have English as an additional language or are new arrivals to the county or are frequent movers or find it difficult to engage with the primary school or have a history of non-engagement with the process. Self-refer for help.
