About us
The Beanstalk is a Montessori Nursery School that was rated 'Outstanding' in its 2022 inspection and two inspections before that. The Beanstalk is staffed by highly experienced and qualified teachers. We foster an environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace, in a nurturing and affectionate setting that allows them to realize their potential and cultivate their independence and confidence.
Weekly activities include yoga, music, playball and cooking, alongside dedicated Montessori learning areas such as practical life, sensorial, cultural, mathematics, language, and an extensive creative area featuring a woodworking bench.
The school operates from three rooms and has a wonderful, spacious natural garden. Our educational approach is rooted in the Montessori method, complemented by adherence to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Supporting children with additional needs
The Beanstalk is committed to inclusive education for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), fostering an impartial and supportive atmosphere by tailoring educational plans to each child's unique requirements, enabling them to flourish. Our curriculum is created to be accessible and captivating for all children.
We employ teaching strategies, such as differentiated hands-on materials, visual aids, and language groups, to cater to various learning preferences and capabilities. We foster secure and encouraging environments for all children through strategies that encourage positive behaviour. This is made possible by a close partnership with parents, who are regarded as the most vital source of knowledge about their child, ensuring consistency and support between home and school settings.
We work in partnership with specialists to provide guidance and interventions personalised to individual needs. We also ensure that our staff undergo continuous professional development in inclusive practices and SEND, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to support all children.
