Sands End ward is located at the south-eastern edge of Hammersmith & Fulham and is bordered by the Thames River to the south and Parsons Green to the north.
Imperial Wharf train station (serviced by the Overground and Southern Rail) and Chelsea Harbour Pier are located there.
The ward is almost entirely residential in character, with most commercial premises situated alongside Wandsworth Bridge Road and Imperial Wharf.
It is the 8th largest ward in H&F by area and the 4th largest by population. Over the past 10 years the population has increased by 18%.
The ward is a relatively affluent area, however over 36% of residents rent privately.
The overall population is middle-aged and young, single, healthy and skilled. A high proportion of the population work in well-paid professional jobs mainly in professional, scientific and technical activities or financial and insurance activities.
