We designated the Grand Union Canal Conservation Area on 2 July 2002.
From 1 April 2015 the whole of the Conservation Area falls within the area of the Old Oak Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), which is a new Local Planning Authority established by the Mayor of London.
Designation and management of conservation areas within the OPDC area is now the responsibility of the OPDC, but transition arrangements maintain the Grand Union Canal Conservation Area designation and its associated protections. The OPDC is responsible for the determination of all planning and advertisement consent applications within the part of the borough included in the OPDC area.
More details about the OPDC and the Grand Union Canal Conservation Area can be found on their website.
