TRACE is the towed vehicle tracing service, run by London Councils for anyone whose vehicle may have been towed away for illegal parking by any council in London. The web service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. TRACE will advise which pound the vehicle has been moved to and provide information on the procedure for release.
You can also contact TRACE Customer Services Helpdesk if you have any questions or if you cannot access the service online on our Freephone telephone number:

Fees and charges
Before you can collect your car from the pound, you must pay the removal fee, penalty charge and any storage fees.
You have to pay these fees at the car pound in person. You cannot pay by phone or online.
You can pay with a Mastercard, Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Maestro or Solo card. We don't accept cash or cheque payments.
The removal fee is £200.
The penalty charge payable will be either:
- £130 (£65 if paid within the first 14 days) for a 'more serious' contravention
- £80 (£40 if paid within the first 14 days) for a 'less serious' contravention.
Storage fees are £40 per day (or part day) and start to apply if you don't collect your vehicle either on the day it was removed, or the day after it was removed.
To collect your vehicle, you will normally need to provide two proofs of identification, both showing your name and address. The name and address on both documents must be the same.
We advise that you take your vehicle registration document and a recent household bill (not more than three months old).
We reserve the right to require additional proof of identification before releasing a vehicle in certain circumstances.
Appeal against removal (representation)
If you would like to challenge the penalty charge notice and the removal of your vehicle, you must first collect (and pay for) your vehicle.
Once you have done this, write to:
LBHF Parking Services
PO Box 4666
Worthing
BN11 9FY
You must do this within 28 days of collecting your vehicle. We will consider your appeal and respond formally to you within 56 days.
If we agree to accept your appeal, we will write to you and refund the charges.
If we do not agree with your appeal, we will send you a 'Notice of Rejection of Representation'.
This will explain our reasons, and will also explain your right to appeal against the decision to an independent adjudicator. We will send you an appeal form with the Notice of Rejection letter.
Clamping
We do not wheel-clamp in this borough. You may get clamped by bailiffs if you have unpaid parking fines or other debts owed to us or to other authorities, or by agents acting on behalf of other agencies, such as the DVLA.
