Restricted streets in clean air neighbourhood areas operate all day and if you wish to allow someone to drive through one of these streets to get to your address, you will need to book a free RingGo session for your visitor even if;
- they will be parking outside of the hours of parking control
- they are on a motorcycle
- they will be parking off street on private land
- they just stop to drop off or pick up a member of your household or goods and services.

How does the clean air neighbourhood access session work?
- Visitors get free access to the area until midnight. If they stay longer, you will need to book them in again for any subsequent day.
- You can enter a visitor's vehicle details (registration number, make and colour of vehicle) up to midnight on the day, even after they've left, to avoid a penalty.

Questions about how the clean air neighbourhood access only sessions work
If your visitor is parking on-street when visiting you then if you have paid or their parking with your visitor permit then the sessions comes with access as well.
If they do not pay to park, they pay for their own parking or will not be parking then you can book a free clean air neighbourhood access only session on-line or on the RingGo app.
You just book access session for the visitor's car at the time of their visit. The access only session is valid for travel through camera points on the restricted streets until 23:59 on the day.
My visitor needs to drive through a restricted street to visit me, but they can park on my drive, do I need to book?
Any property in a clean air neighbourhood is accessible without the need to go through a controlled street, it just may take them a bit longer to get to you. If your visitor does needs to go through a restricted street to visit you will need to book a visitor parking session, it doesn't matter if they park on your drive or park on street when the parking controls are not in operation. The session is free.
My visitor is on a motorcycle and needs to go through a restricted street, do I need to book?
Yes, all vehicles including motorcycles need to be booked on a session to drive through camera points on a restricted street without incurring a penalty.
They will not need to pay to park on-street in the majority of the borough except in the Caxton Village area. See: Important changes to motorcycle parking in Caxton Village.
Can I use a visitor permit to book access sessions for trades people, delivery drivers or minicabs?
Yes, anyone visiting your home can be registered for an access session. However, you can only have one visitor session active at any one time.
If you have visitors or trades people that need to pass through a restriction you will have to book a visitor permit using the visitor permits scheme.
This applies to:
- visitors who park on street during parking control hours (payment required)
- visitors who park on street outside of parking control hours (free of charge)
- visitors who park off street on private land (free of charge)
- visitors on a motorcycle who park on or off street anytime of the day (free of charge)
You may book your visitor permit session in advance (if you know the vehicle number plate) or, before midnight on the day that your visitors or trades people pass through the restricted street.
If visitors or trades people need to park on street for five minutes or more during control hours, they will need a parking session for the length of stay and you will have to pay the relevant fee. If they are parking on private land, or on street out of hours it is free to book the access session.
My visitor got fined for using a restricted street, can I book a session to cover it?
No sorry, It is important that you register an access session for your visitor on any day they are driving to and from your address to visit you to prevent them receiving any fines. You can enter a visitor's registration number before midnight on the day, even after they've left, to avoid a penalty charge notice
How many access only sessions can I book per day?
Access only sessions are unlimited.
