We will soon be carrying out some essential carriageway repairs to Talgarth Road and Wood Lane, using a grant for £109k from the Department for Transport (DfT). This grant is made possible by the reallocation of HS2 funding.
These roads are part of the Borough Principal Road Network and are essential routes through the borough. For the resurfacing work, road closures will be put in place and diversion routes advertised. We will also contact local residents and businesses by letter with works details such as timings.
In Hammersmith & Fulham, we spend £1.8m per year on planned maintenance works, that is where we repave or resurface whole roads, or large sections. However, additional funding is always needed, and this investment from the DfT will help to improve the roads within the borough for all of our residents.
Over the next few years, the DfT will allocate additional funding to Local Authorities across the country, in an aim to improve the condition of the highway network.
