Union Dance promotes identity and inter-cultural understanding through a mix of Contemporary, Street and Martial Arts styles.
Their mission is to extend the boundaries of formal and informal learning utilising creativity for artistic development.
Union Dance:
- Provides voluntary and community groups training in workshops in street dance - In schools, colleges and after school clubs
- Offers free one-to-one advice sessions and training workshops for mentoring young people
- Reached out to over 6000 audience members with its youth group and professional dance productions.
- Promotes healthy living in Fit Fresh Start, a wellbeing training course for Wandsworth, and Brent schools
- Empowers young people in regeneration areas in after school projects such as 24 afterschool workshops in Hackney
- Provides a supportive environment that increases confidence, communication and teamwork
- Is part of the GCSE syllabus for dance related choreography supported by resource information and digital packs
- Works in dance in partnership with 7 European countries to produce new work with and for young people
