SurvivorsUK offer a pan-London service to any male over the age of 18 who has experienced sexual abuse and/or rape whether in adulthood or childhood.
What is male sexual abuse?
Male sexual abuse is defined as any unwanted or non-consensual act performed against a man or boy at any time in his life.
How often does it happen?
An estimated 12,000 men are raped in the UK every year, and more than 70,000 are sexually abused or assaulted.
What can they do to help?
SurvivorsUK know male sexual abuse has profound effects on those who experience it and can deeply affect their mental health and relationships.
But they are there to help sexually abused men as well as their friends and family, no matter when the abuse happened, and challenge the silence and attitudes.
They can offer a range of support services including counselling and therapy appointments as well as web and SMS chat. All services are provided by trained professionals who as specialists in the field of male sexual violence have helped many men to work through their experiences.
