Silverfit is an active charity led by older people for older people. They aim to promote happier, healthier ageing through physical activity and at the same time combat social isolation.
The `sandwich` formula of socialising /exercise / socialising for older people is unique, increasing activity levels and helping people make new friends, feel more confident and enjoy life as they age.
Regular events and social activities help increase fitness regardless of your ability or background; Guided, timed walks, cycling groups, local jogs, Nordic walking, Tai Chi, and Pilates are all popular activities.
Join in on one of their events or better still become a volunteer and organise your own group locally. They are small but growing , and with your help, can reach out and show that you can be fit and healthy at any age. They have a local group in Hyde Park.
